Ashley Alexandrino is the latest attorney to join Strickler, Platnick & Hatfield. She was drawn to family law because she finds it rewarding to help individuals and families navigate major life transitions.
Ashley helps clients by developing practical strategies for their family law matters, which she then communicates to them. She is dedicated to ensuring they are in the best position to make informed decisions about consequential personal and financial matters. Ashley also brings valuable financial expertise to support and property division issues, along with an international relations background that informs her work on international and cross-border family law matters.
Ashley earned dual undergraduate degrees from Pennsylvania State University: a B.S. in Business and a B.A. in Psychology. She later earned an M.A. in International Relations from Columbia University and spent nearly a decade in international development, policy, and nonprofit leadership. That experience inspired her to shift from institutional and policy-level work to helping individuals and families address complex challenges in ways that directly and meaningfully affect their lives.
Ashley earned her J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she served as Lead Articles Editor of the German Law Journal. She has also completed Maryland Court-Appointed Guardianship Training.
Taking a practical, client-centered approach to family law, Ashley believes that effective representation requires empathy and candor. Ashley seeks to understand what matters most to each client, then explains complex issues clearly, outlines available strategies, and provides an honest assessment of risks and realistic options. She works hard to protect her clients’ interests while keeping them informed and prepared throughout the legal process. Skilled in negotiation and mediation, Ashley is also a litigator.
Outside the office, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, traveling, cooking and baking, and pursuing creative projects. Her years of international work have fostered a lasting interest in diverse cultures and global affairs.
